Dogs consider me a master musician, while their owners and other humans know me as the founder of Tummel.Me; not so much for my musical talents.
My junior high classmates, tired of my cattle sneaking onto campus, knew me as the guy most likely to be a rancher.
No matter how you know me, or how you found me, WELCOME!
CliffsNotes on Grady Sibert
I wrote my first line of code when I was nine years old, on a Commodore Vic 20, and since then haven’t strayed far from a computer.
I grew up Tucson, Arizona, and spent a great deal of my time involved in 4-H and FFA, raising and showing cattle, sheep and goats.
The son of a contractor, it was perhaps only natural that I would spend a bit of my professional life in the construction industry. I’ve built parks in San Francisco, worked on the pier that the USS Missouri is moored at and put in the giant sewer line that AT&T (Pac Bell) park hooks into.
While working in Hawaii, I found time to become a certified PADI and NAUI dive instructor.
Later in my career, I segued into the wine business and was the General Manager of Quintessa. On a side note, Agustin and Valeria Huneeus are two of the most amazing people I have ever worked for and learned from.
Through the course of all that, I managed to become the father of 3 amazing kids.
A Bit More In-Depth
I am trying to live an authentic and transparent life. As such, there will be times when I write things here that I won’t apologize for.
It’s been quite a few years since I piloted my life, quite literally, to the gates of Hell and was faced with a decision to live or die… I chose wisely.
Since then, my life has changed in ways I can’t describe and I share portions of my journey in hopes it may help others that find themselves on a similar path.
