Get Your Hands Dirty

get-your-hands-dirty

Tonight I had the pleasure of seeing the Hot Club of San Francisco at the Napa Valley Opera House. It was a last minute decision and I didn’t really know what to expect… they were amazing.

Sitting there listening to their gypsy jazz holiday music, I couldn’t help but thinking that I wished I could play the guitar like they could. Then I realized there was a time that I wished I could just play anything on a guitar.

About four years ago, I changed that wish into action and actually picked up a guitar and started playing around with it. While I don’t expect to headline any shows in the near future, I can play through a few songs.

The Love and Loathing of Social Media

The sky, once merely an overseer, thrust itself through the heart of the land sending it spiraling into oblivion. Plunging through the apex, a white flash brought my focus upon my fiancé bent over me.

Turning 40

October 1, 2010 by Grady Sibert Leave a Comment

Morning thoughts about turning 40:

After clinging to the last bastion of my 30s, I acceded to time’s insistence and turned 40. It’s one of those milestone birthdays, a big round number that leads one to take stock of how one’s life is turning out and what one’s learned up to this point.  What did my 30s teach me?
